About Curlo
Local AI sound library search for Mac
Curlo is a private, local AI search app for sound libraries on Mac. It helps creators search and organize sound effects, samples, and music without uploading audio files or search queries to the cloud.
Why "Curlo"?
"Curlo" comes from "Curlew." I liked the image of a curlew using its long beak to search through mud for food, which felt similar to searching through a messy pile of files for the right sound.
"Cur" also loosely hints at a cursor. But "Curlew" felt a bit awkward as an app name, so I changed it slightly, and "lo" also gives it a small "local" feeling.
Roadmap
Curlo will keep improving around audio asset organization, editing handoff, and local production workflows. These are the areas currently planned or under evaluation.
